About the Instructor
Patty VerDouw is the oldest of seven children. She graduated from Edgeley High School in 1969 and attended Valley City State College and Dickinson State College. She spent much of the next 20 years as a licensed insurance agent in Minnesota. In 1988, she began a 15 year career with John Deere. Her last assignment there was as manager of office administration for John Deere Credit in Johnston, IA. In that capacity, she oversaw the daily operations of their 267,000 square foot world headquarters as well as the archival and facilities staff. Patty was hired as business manager of the Edgeley School District in 2002 and served in this capacity until June 2014. Patty now works for the North Dakota School Boards Association, assisting with Policy Services and the Business Manager Certification Program. Patty has twin sons, Justin and Gregory Goettle, who also graduated from Edgeley Public School in 2008.

Final Assignment: 50% of the grade will be generated by creating a board document for your district. The instructor will provide guidance on this during class. Your completed Final Assignment must be returned to Patty VerDouw at patty.verdouw@NDSBA.org by October 31, 2023.
Final Exam: The final exam will be a 25 question test. You may use your lecture notes and course resources to answer these questions. Once you have completed the exam, click “Show Results.” A screen will appear with your recorded answers and final exam score. The exam due date is October 31, 2023.
The final exam must be proctored by any school administrator, direct supervisor or board member. A proctor verification form must be completed and emailed to patty.verdouw@ndsba.org by October 31, 2023, to validate the final exam.
